Supporting Nurse Innovation Through Hackathons

NurseApproved is committed to supporting nurse-led innovation by hosting and sponsoring hackathons that put nurses at the center of problem-solving. These events are designed to bring people together—nurses, builders, and healthcare thinkers—to turn everyday challenges into practical solutions. It's about giving nurses the space, support, and platform to drive change from the ground up, because the future of health starts with those who know it best.

Innovation in Action @ HLTH 2024 Hackathon

At HLTH 2024, NurseApproved helped lead a Nurses Hackathon, a fast-paced, solutions-driven event designed to empower nurses to tackle the profession’s most pressing challenges. Sponsored by ConnectRN and the University City Science Center, and hosted by NurseApproved, the hackathon brought together nurses, technologists, and healthcare leaders to co-create impactful solutions.

In just 90 minutes, teams of nurses brainstormed and pitched ideas addressing real-world issues like staffing shortages, access to training, administrative burdens, and outdated technology. Drawing from their frontline experience, participants developed practical, scalable solutions and presented them to a panel of expert judges:

Judges evaluated each pitch on creativity, feasibility, and potential impact, offering valuable feedback and reinforcing the importance of cross-industry collaboration.
